KESWICK man charged with murder

Date: Tuesday 8th October 2019

A KESWICK man is to appear in court this week charged with murder, after the death of a 64-year-old woman last month.

Police have charged Patrick Webster, who was arrested on the night of Wednesday, 11th September, when officers were called to an incident at a residential address in Keswick.

The 62-year-old, of St Kentigern Close, will go before West Cumbria magistrates in Workington on Friday.

He previously faced a charge of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and appeared at the same court on Friday, 13th September, however, the alleged victim, Katrina (Trina) Fletcher, succumbed to her injuries on Tuesday, 24th September.

Ms Fletcher (pictured) was found by police and paramedics at her home address in St Kentigern Close, Keswick, at around 11-15pm on 11th September, after suffering serious head injuries.

North West Ambulance Service took her to Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle, where she died 13 days later.

Ms Fletcher’s family paid tribute to “a loving sister, sister-in-law, auntie and friend to many in her home town of Keswick who will be sadly missed”.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed an incident in the St Kentigern Close area at about the time she was found. Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting Operation Exact.
